Who We Are
Our Roots
Rescue Women Foundation, a local Ugandan Non-Governmental Organisation (Registration No.: 3210, Permit No.: 4215), is premised on the notion that empowering women and girls can lift them and the society around them out of poverty thereby contributing to development several-fold.
Here at Rescue Women Foundation, we know that sometimes all it takes to change the world is a little support. Since our founding in 2018, we have been determined to make an impact with the girls and women on our community. The core of our efforts is to bring our team’s fresh ideas and passion to the outreach activities we’re involved in. Through all of our endeavors we hope to display the conviction behind our beliefs.
What We Do
Making A Difference
Reinforcing our Commitment
We empower vulnerable women and girls for sustainable livelihoods economically and through education and health. This equips them to be resilient and help to uphold their dignity despite the forces that tend to denigrate them.
One Step at a Time
At Rescue Women Foundation, we are dedicated to supporting teenage/adolescent mothers through a ‘Triple R’ approach; that is ‘Rescue, Rehabilitate, Restore’. It is by no means an easy feat, but through love and empowerment, we believe we can facilitate progress in this area. We are always striving to make a difference, and invite you to learn more and lend your support.
Helping The Community
Our foundation has worked to raise and advance funds to over 640 women as start-up capital to boost their small businesses. We have built their capacity in financial literacy in order to make their businesses profitable.
Every Mother Matters
With our organization’s mission always in mind, we strive to find new strategies for dealing with the challenge of teenage pregnancy. We seek to uphold the intrinsic dignity of women and girls. We have worked to take two young women off sex work. One of them dropped out of school at age 14. We have since taken her back to school and enrolled her into an ‘education-for-adults’ program. Contact us to learn more about our commitment to this cause.
Education for Success
Our goal is to 'Restore' women by equipping them with skills that will enable them to be resilient and survive this sometimes harsh and hostile world. Such skills include entrepreneurship, basket weaving, tailoring, shoe making, and hairdressing.
Reuniting the Community
Many of the young mothers stay at the dormitories at our Foundation House. After birth of their children, and after neonatal care, the less vulnerable young mothers are reintegrated into their communities. Learn more about our work by getting in touch with our team today.
